The Approach

Leadership embarked on a comprehensive transformation plan that focused on strategic realignment, operational streamlining, and product innovation. It hired Joseph Imbriano to serve as interim VP of Strategy.

Together with the CEO, Joseph designed a strategic roadmap that served as the North Star throughout the transformation.

The CEO shared the new roadmap during a town hall. This allowed the opportunity for open dialogue. Everyone understood the road ahead contained hard work and tough decisions. And there was no guarantee of success.

 Next, the Leadership team worked on stopping the financial bleeding. It focused on cost reduction, streamlining  processes (automating where possible) and ruthlessly eliminating redundancies, achieving a staggering 31% reduction in operational expenses over two quarters. This freed up vital resources for investments in product development and strategic partnerships.

But cost-cutting alone wouldn't solve everything. The company needed a revenue stream. Joseph partnered closely with product teams in Asia, leveraging their deep market understanding. Together, they designed, built, and launched the company's first investment service tailored for the Chinese market.

The initial product launch generated promising revenue, but survival wasn't enough. The company needed sustainable growth. Joseph presented a daring proposal to the CEO: secure a market distribution deal in China. The world of private financial institutions and investments was nascent in that world, making it a high-risk, high-reward move. The potential rewards were astronomical. Also, they had a secret weapon: Joseph had lived in China for 5 years. He spoke the language and understood the art of doing business there.
